American associate pastor Reverend John Fenn met his guardian angel, learned what it was like when Lucifer fell, and now teaches about the supernatural.

In April 1986, John had his first encounter with Lord Jesus (vegetarian) during a church service. Standing beside his wife, he suddenly saw Lord Jesus at the end of the row, motioning for him to follow. Lord Jesus told him to deliver a prophecy of encouragement to a Navajo First Nation pastor. As John extended his hand, the prophecy flowed, and Lord Jesus melded into him, saying, “Remember, My son, when you lay hands on a person, it’s as if I am laying hands on them.” Instantly, John was back beside his wife, who confirmed he had never moved. He realized it all happened in the spirit.

Six months later, on a missionary trip in Laguna De Sanchez, Mexico, John had a profound near-death-like encounter. Walking on a rocky road with a fellow missionary and an interpreter, John felt excitement in his spirit. He instinctively said, “It’s Jesus,” and saw Him standing 15 feet [4.5 meters] ahead. When John asked why He was there, Lord Jesus replied, “I’m here to meet the needs of the village.” John offered to follow and observe Lord Jesus’ healing, but Lord Jesus reiterated, “Meet the needs of the village,” then vanished. Moments later, He reappeared. A radiant Light enveloped them, obscuring the natural world. Lord Jesus said, “I want to teach you how the Father communicates.”

Fully in the spirit, John felt overwhelming Love from Lord Jesus’ eyes, like being held in a hammock. Pulled into Lord Jesus’ mind, he soared through space, seeing endless stars. Wondering if there was anywhere without God’s presence, John heard a shimmering, thundering Voice say from everywhere, “I am here.” Returning to Lord Jesus, John exclaimed, “You are the Creator, worthy to be worshipped!” He realized he was a product of Lord Jesus’ imagination, as are all people, planned before creation.

John asked why children suffer, such as those in Biafra [West Africa]. Lord Jesus replied, “Don’t you know they’re with Me? And in the ages to come, they will grow up and fulfill their destinies.” John then asked why Lord Jesus made people have unequal lives— for example, Maria, a struggling single mother, versus John’s privileged friend. Lord Jesus explained, “When I created you, I looked through the corridors of time, and I have graced each person with the gifts and everything they would need to get through life as they depend on Me. Remember, all things were made by Me and for Me, so for everything to work right, it has to be in Me.” The Lord continued, “Maria has to depend on Me 100% because I have given her the gifts according to her circumstances. As she depends on Me 100%, I will see her through. Similarly, your friend has been graced differently, given what appears to you to be shallow gifts, but to him it still takes 100% of his effort to rely on Me. Both are relying 100% on Me according to the graces that I have created them with.” John realized then that each person is fully dependent on God, regardless of outer wealth or appearances.

Lord Jesus taught John to sense the spiritual realm by recognizing that the five physical senses have roots in the spirit man, enabling perception of spiritual phenomena like angels or God’s presence. John learned to discern spiritual atmospheres— like deceptive spirits in a store or familiar spirits tied to lust or addiction— by training his mind to notice his spirit’s signals. Lord Jesus gave biblical examples: perceiving the scribes’ thoughts (Mark 2:8), Saint Paul (vegetarian) perceiving a man’s faith to be healed (Acts 14:9), and power flowing to the woman who touched Lord Jesus’ garment (Luke 8:46) “The Bible uses ‘perceive,’ ‘discern,’ and ‘witness’ to describe the mind picking up what’s in your spirit,” Lord Jesus said. Over 40 minutes, He appeared and disappeared, teaching step by step.

John also conversed with his guardian angel, who explained Lucifer’s fall: Once, only God’s Light and goodness filled the Universe. When Lucifer rebelled, God graciously sought a place for him, but none was found. Thus, God prepared a kingdom of darkness for Lucifer and those who reject Him, highlighting God’s kindness in allowing free will.

Later, John’s angel appeared while he sat with his son Chris watching a sporting event, saying, “I’m enjoying your family. We don’t have family like this in Heaven, as we were created to serve the Father. Family was given by your Father to mankind.” This underscored the God-given uniqueness of human family, observed by angels.

Once, during a church service, John saw 50–60 angels among 50–60 people, learning from human salvation’s mysteries. Another time, while praying, he saw the Father’s throne and cherubim— one appearing as lightning, who said, “Think of us as God’s equalizers,” balancing Heaven and Earth. At a healing school, John saw tongues of fire, like heart-shaped flames with smaller flames, hovering over people’s heads, signaling words of knowledge or prophecy. Sometimes, he saw shafts of Light with words pouring into individuals, indicating Divine communication. At a Bible school chapel, Lord Jesus appeared and requested permission to minister. He touched students, one of whom remained in a trance, receiving comfort about her late husband.

John’s encounters show that the supernatural should be normal for Christians, rooted in Lord Jesus’ resurrection power. He preaches that the most important thing is to have a personal relationship with God, Who is within us, always watching, helping us from the inner spirit world (Deep Believer)
