In today’s news, European Union donates €82 million to support Palestinians in 2023, avian flu infections in humans increase concerns of serious zoonotic pandemic, musicians from Paraguay raise environmental awareness with unique orchestra in Bolivia’s capital city, researchers calculate amount of carbon stored in nearly 10 billion African drylands trees, quick-thinking boy in Arkansas, United States, helps save his family from house fire, Dutch startup introduces vegan plant-based canned tuna in Spain, and bat-person in Australia untangled from net and returned to nature after rehabilitation.

I'd like to share an interesting tip with you. There is a feasible way to determine whether a battery is full or empty in just a few seconds. Grab a battery that you want to test and drop it directly on a hard surface like a table from 15 to 20 centimeters above. An empty battery will bounce back up following the impact. In contrast, a full battery barely jumps and will drop instantly. The reason for this is because alkaline batteries have a gel mass in them that becomes solid when the battery goes out. This causes it to spring off the surface. The gel mass is soft in charged batteries and therefore makes the impact gentle.

Now, it’s time to grab that chuckle lantern and point it at the joke of the day. It’s called, “Unsightly Hair.”

A man went to the barbershop and said:

“The haircut you gave me last time…”

“Yes, thank you for coming again.”

“…was extremely unsightly.”

“Then...why did you come back?”

“Well, that's because my wife didn’t want to go shopping with me looking like that. Bravo, well done! Thank you so much. I'll have the same once again.”

?!

And now we have a heartline from Rojin in Iran
