American energy healer Loreli Drache shares her near-death experience: At age 7, while visiting a pond with her aunt, uncle, and 13-year-old brother, Loreli was standing alone at the end of the pier when everything went black. The next moment, she was underwater, sinking feet first. She saw bubbles rising past her face and realized she couldn’t swim or breathe. “I’m going to drown. I’m going to die.” The moment she thought those words, her consciousness separated from her body. She floated above the water, watching her body sink, hair drifting and hands reaching upward.
Loreli’s awareness expanded as she rose higher, connecting telepathically with the thoughts of those below. She linked first with her brother, who was debating whether to swim or run faster to reach her in time. Loreli found it amusing, knowing the pond entrances were too far apart for either option to work quickly enough. Next, she connected with her uncle, who had heard her aunt scream. He worried about getting blamed, thinking, “We’re supposed to be watching her. How did she fall in?” Meanwhile, Loreli’s aunt was rushing back down toward the pier, thinking, “This is my fault. I can’t swim, but I’m the closest. How can I save her?” She planned to grip the end post and try to pull Loreli in by her hair. Loreli’s awareness expanded to reach her mother back home. She saw her chopping vegetables and wondering when they’d return.
Then Loreli instantly shifted to a realm of pure whiteness, misty like clouds. An energy presence, sensed but not visually seen as a body, stood to her left— it had guided her there. Above her was a tremendous Light, the brightest white imaginable, yet it did not burn her eyes. As she fully opened her awareness to it, the Light expanded into vivid neon yellow, then amber and orange hues. It appeared massive, positioned like on a stairway, with an arch or portal visible behind it. She could make out the faint outline of a being’s shape, obscured by the Light’s brilliance.
An overwhelming sense of peace and love blanketed Loreli, deeper than maternal affection, like being the cherished baby of this entity. Telepathically, the being conveyed: “You have more to do.” What felt like lifetimes passed in argument— Loreli refused to return, insisting she had seen too much and could not face going back. The exchange dragged on eternally in back-and-forth telepathy. Finally, a booming, authoritative male voice declared, “You must go back. You have more to do.” Like a submissive child, Loreli responded, “Okay.”
Loreli reappeared above her body as her aunt and uncle pulled her to shore and laid her on the grass. Though she looked lifeless, there was no water in her lungs.
She didn’t speak until the next day, when she turned to her brother and asked, “What made you think you could swim or run like that to save me?” His face went pale. “How did you know that?” he asked. “I died,” she said, later telling her mother the full story.
Her Catholic family, familiar with spiritual experiences, believed her and offered strong support.
After the experience, Loreli developed heightened psychic and healing abilities— clairvoyance, mediumship, and precognitive insight. Her mother called her an “old soul.” People learned to trust her warnings and visions. Once, her sister avoided a dangerous trip because of Loreli’s foresight.
As a child, she also saw when people were about to die, witnessing soul separation start about two weeks prior. Affected people appeared as wax-like dummies, melting and shining as their energy returned to the same Source Light she had encountered.
From her experience, Loreli knows death is not an end but a return to Light, and that love, the essence of all creation, connects every living being to the Source from which we all came (NDE Diary)
