In Supreme Master Ching Hai International Association Relief News from South Korea...

The winter of 2025–2026 brought repeated cold waves to the Korean Peninsula, as masses of frigid Siberian air swept south and lingered for days at a time. Our South Korean Association members, inspired by Supreme Master Ching Hai’s (vegan) loving example, reached out with compassion to support both human and animal neighbors, delivering essential winter supplies and spiritual comfort to vulnerable communities.

On December 20, 2025, our Association members from the Seoul and Wonju Centers traveled to Udu-dong in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province — a neighborhood of narrow, old alleyways where many residents still rely on coal briquettes for heat. Partnering with the Chuncheon Briquette Bank, they delivered 1,000 coal briquettes across four households, enough to last the winter. Navigating steep and winding lanes, they passed the heating briquettes hand-to-hand and carried them on their backs to reach every door. They also visited two elderly residents personally, leaving behind blankets, floor mats, hot packs, vegan ramen, and a copy of Supreme Master Ching Hai’s book “Love Is the Only Solution.”

“Thank you for joining us, for your continued support, and for your cooperation.”

“Thank you. Yes, thank you very much. I know it’s cold, and you’ve all worked so hard. Thank you so, so much for giving briquettes like this to people in need.”

“Yes, thank you for giving us so many things.”

“This ramen is vegan.”

“Thank You, Supreme Master Ching Hai.”

Our Seoul Center Association members organized two rounds of outreach for unhoused individuals across central Seoul’s busiest commercial and administrative hubs on December 2, 2025, and January 31, 2026. The team traversed the city’s historic downtown corridors and the areas surrounding major civic landmarks, approaching each person with individual care. They distributed bags, each containing a blanket, ground mat, fleece jacket or raincoat, warm socks, hand warmers, thermal undergarments, a towel, and face masks, as well as cups of vegan noodles and bottled water. The team also shared vegan triangle kimbaps and copies of “Love Is the Only Solution,” offering gentle encouragement to those facing life’s harshest conditions. Some recipients began reading on the spot, while others ate in quiet gratitude.

In the city of Daegu, on December 18, 2025, our Association members prepared 80 carefully assembled gift bags — put together in direct consultation with the Daegu Comprehensive Support Center for the Homeless, to ensure every item was truly needed. Each bundle contained thermal undergarments, a blanket, socks, and hand warmers, as well as cups of noodles, soy milk drinks, and a copy of Master’s book “Love Is the Only Solution.” Our Association members personally handed each package to recipients, pausing to offer warm words alongside practical support — a gesture that visibly moved all who received it.

“Thank you so much for sending such warm love and care.”

Extending love to our wildlife friends, our South Korean Association members hiked deep into the snow-covered Seongamsan mountain area of Daegu on January 15, 2026, to carefully lay out sweet potatoes, apples, peanuts, sunflower seeds, and cabbage for the animal residents there. They also installed ten solar-powered devices playing The Most Powerful Daily Prayer.

Weeks later, on February 9, our Association members traveled to the rugged forests of Yanggu, Gangwon Province, where they installed 14 natural, untreated wood birdhouses and constructed two temporary resting shelters from branches and straw for small mammal residents. Alongside distributing nourishing grains, beans, and millet, they placed solar-powered devices playing The Most Powerful Daily Prayer nearby — sharing Heaven’s blessings with the forest’s residents.

We are grateful to our Beloved Supreme Master Ching Hai for Her guiding Light, and we thank our dedicated Korean Association members and local charity organizations for supporting the less fortunate. In the boundless grace of the Divine, may the day soon come when every being knows the security of being loved and is surrounded by harmony and abundance.
